The fully laden with timber (1080tons) and steel pipe (930 tons) M/V “SEA EAGLE S” broke free of her anchoring due to extremely adverse weather conditions (11 BF), drifted and firmly grounded over her entire length on the rocky shore of Mirmigia islets. Vessel had a starboard list of 10o while all her double bottoms were holed and her engine room severely breached and flooded. POSEIDON was contracted by her owners under LOF terms for the de-oiling and refloating. She was refloated the vessel after discharging her entire cargo and pumping out approx. 150tons of bunkers to be later towed to a safer position where patching up preservation works in her engine room took place.
