Following an explosion on July 19th, the F/B “ANNA V” was lying semi-sunken with a list of 20-25˚ to her starboard side in the port of Patra. Vessel suffered damage/hole, 105x 70cm between frame No 48 SS and frame No 49 SS. POSEIDON was contracted by her owners to refloat her and remove her bunkers. Refloating was succeeded by watertightening all openings (outlets, ventilators, intakes) & holes caused by the explosion, pumping out of large oily seawater quantities. Throughout the refloating oil containment booms were deployed around the vessel. Machinery in her engine room was preserved before her towage to Piraeus/Perama Port via Corinth Canal.
