Following a collision with another vessel near Elafonisos Island, vessel had sustained extensive damage on her fore peak area (completely deformed), forward bulkhead, bulkhead between No 1 & No 2 Cargo Holds. She was running real danger of sinking due to the uncontrollable and continuous seawater ingress through various openings at No 1 Cargo Hold to No 2 Cargo Hold. The refloating operation included patching up No 1 and No 2 Cargo Holds’ bulkheads, pumping out flooded cargo holds, water tightening of her damaged by the collision bulkheads. Repairing works on her fore peak area were extensive as approximately 40m2 of steel plates were welded. Vessel was successfully refloated and safely redelivered to her owners.
